Also happened to me during day 1 of my beta testing.  Was unable to recreate, although other players said its a known issue.  Just figured i would share.

i never experienced this in FEL, but sometimes this happens depending on the mouse.
kinda like when your left mousebutton gets physically stuck, or even software-wise stuck.. or both?
kinda like reverting between pressed and non-pressed status of the mouse.

Does this happen on it's own during normal play, or does something else normally happen that could potentially steal focus while the mouse button is down?

This could be a known bug: if the game loses focus and regains focus with any input keys in different states it can cause them to get stuck in an opposite default state with the action state being the normal default state.

I got the same thing with jumping, but shift+space ended it, so maybe shift+shoot would end that one?
Just a suggestion... also my mouse stopped its "contract" and my jet went on until I quit the game.

same with my brothers laptop, happened at very low fps and for some reason, bringing up task manager "helps" the game boot/begin/unfreeze for very short seconds...

after multiple trys and finally getting in game with his laptop , we went to move his character, character movement froze, then the cg began to fire and unload all rounds... Undecided

I've had this bug with every version of torque I've ever had the pleasure to play on.

Now that I'm in a position to request a fix, I'm going to do just that:

The bug regarding states being captured in opposite of actual state is really annoying, very easy to reproduce, and very likely to happen more often once the unwashed masses get in on IA. Please take a look at it, guys.

Fondest regards,

The sticky jump bug was caused by some bad logic and there's a temporary DSO fix for it.

I would love a solid repro case for this bug. If you can reproduce it please let me know.

The sticky jump bug was caused by some bad logic and there's a temporary DSO fix for it.

I would love a solid repro case for this bug. If you can reproduce it please let me know.

1. Start any map on fullscreen.

2. Play normally.

3. While a button such as mouse2, space, shift, w, a, s, or d, (or any combo thereof) is held down, have the application lose focus (ie an accidental alt-tab, an IM coming in, or a windows-key tap(windows key might have been fixed recently; however it was a problem for me on TGE 1.5 and I know that an alt-tab still works in Legions so I'm assuming this will still, too)).

4. Give the application focus back while the exact states of any button is not the same as it was when the application lost focus.

5. The button states are now reversed.

This may or may not be the cause of the poster's bug, though it can have a very similar effect on them.
This bug has been around since at least TGE 1.4.2; I'm able to reproduce it in a project I did for school some years ago.

Did you actually try this and successfully reproduce the bug or is this just an assumption based on other games?

I'm asking because Legions is supposed to handle this (alt-tab/focus loss is supposed to release trigger states correctly). I can't repro this so please post more info if you can actually reproduce the bug.

I tried to recreate this tonight, but had different results...

My jump button would get "stuck"

My keybinds are as follows:
RightClick - Jet UP/Jump combo
Space Bar - Activate Jets
Left Shift - Jet Down

I noticed when using Left shift with the combination of right click and space bar, afterwards i would be stuck jumping over and over until i used Left Shift+space bar again.  Couldnt recreate this with weapon fire though.

To be clear, did you have the DSO fix for sticky jump?
